Law is a profession that relies heavily on prestige. Many applicants have some interest in the T14 (known as the top 14 law schools based on the US News rankings). To get a clerkship or job at a top law firm, it does help to have attended one of these law schools. However, there are many wonderful regional law schools that do an excellent job of educating lawyers as well. On the other hand, there are law schools that have poor graduation rates and low percentages of students who are able to pass the bar, so it is important to make sure that your investment in this field is worth the returns. Law school admission committees at the top schools focus heavily on grades and test scores, but a well-written essay that clearly outlines your motives for law school and what you hope to achieve in your future practice is beneficial. Excellent letters of recommendation, a history of showing dedication to extracurricular activities, and internship/work experiences can also help an applicant stand out.

Current Landscape of Law School Admissions
How Our Law School Admissions Experience Can Help
This field does get a larger number of applicants who seem to be applying to this program by default as law is a very versatile degree and appeals to those who love reading and writing. Since the Great Recession of 2008, there has been more focus from law school admission committees on accepting applicants who have true passion of wanting to be in law school and have a strong idea of what the profession entails and are not just blindly idealistic about it – so it is important that your true interest in the law shine through. Christina loves helping clients tell their stories of what they hope to contribute to the world and is excited to achieve your dreams for law school.
